HW- study for Fridays quiz. Review pages 75 & 80 in your notebooks. You will need to know the powers each branch has, as well as age & citizenship requirements, and term length for members of the House, Senate, President and the Supreme Court.
We will begin a newpaper project tomorrow in class. All information can be found in the history alive notebook. Projects are due on Tuesday (2/22).

In class we began working on a Constitution Hunt, we will finish this in class tomorrow. The quiz over Locke and Montesquieu will be given on Friday.
Feb. 4, 2011
Students were given class time to work on their Constitution illustrations. These illustrations should be in the History Alive Notebook, pages 69-74. Each of these goals from the Constitution need three illustrations and should include color.
On Monday we will collect History Alive Notebooks, we will grade pages 52-74. OnThursday students will take a quiz over John Locke and Baron de Montesquieu, students can use pages 65-68 in their notebooks to study for this quiz.

All SS classes met with Mrs. Fortuna to discuss high school scheduling. Students were given a letter for their parents regarding orientation at the high schools as well as a course description booklet.

Students were given more class time to finish their Constitutional Convention invites. Once finished this needs to be attached to page 60 in the History Alive notebook.

In class students finished "Slide Lecture" notes. Students were given back their graded American Revolution tests.
*Reminder- students are expected to bring their History Alive Notebooks to class each day, unless a teacher tells them otherwise.
HW- Students need to study "The Critical Period" packet for the quiz over the Articles of Confederation. This quiz will be given on Thursday.

The quiz over the events leading to the American Revolution will be given on Monday. Students need to study pages 39, 40 and 41 in their History Alive Notebooks.
We began working on a cartoon strip of The Boston Tea Party in class. Below is the information that needs to be included. These posters will be collected at the end of the day on Monday.
You must draw a picture for each of the following events. Under each drawing you will write what is happening in your own words. You can not copy what is given to you on this paper.
The Boston Tea Party
- Dartmouth arriving (British boat carrying tea)
- Colonist not letting it unload
- Governor Hutchinson doesn’t let it leave
- Sam Adams and Sons of Liberty meet
- Colonists dress as Indians and head for the docks
- Colonists dumping tea overboard
*The underlined words above must be included in your description for those pictures. Students are expected to write the above information in good sentences under each picture. These sentences must be in their own words!!!

In class we completed guided notes on the 12 events leading to the American Revolution. Students will be taking a quiz over these events on Monday (11/22). Students will need to match the event to a brief description. The notes are attached to the History Alive Notebook.
All classes will finish presentation on Monday (11/15).
